About Jessica Kirk, PhD, MBA, PMP
With more than 20 years in engineering, management research, and higher education, I founded Aspen Gold Consulting to help organizations improve how work gets done. My career began as an engineer at Boeing, where I learned to think in systems and solve large-scale, high-pressure challenges. That experience sparked a deeper question: how do people operate within these systems? To explore that, I earned my MBA (Washington University in St. Louis) and PhD in Management (University of Colorado Boulder), then spent twelve years teaching and conducting research in partnership with organizations.
In academia and consulting, I’ve worked at the bridge between research and practice—whether redesigning the proposal process at the Space Telescope Science Institute, helping global tech accelerators scale, or partnering with a Fortune 100 company. Those experiences cemented my core belief: lasting improvement happens where evidence meets design meets human insight.
At Aspen Gold Consulting, I help organizations improve how work actually happens—through stronger managers, people-first processes, and translating research into action. My approach combines technical precision, research rigor, and an educator’s clarity—so you get practical solutions tailored for your needs and your people.
The name 'Aspen Gold' speaks to both my Colorado roots and the aspen grove itself—deeply connected beneath the surface, resilient through change, and able to thrive even in the densest forest. I chose to return to St. Louis to raise my family and build this practice in the region where my roots run deep, bringing together research and impact, here at home.
Let’s make work flow better for your team and organization.
